There was a minor upset in Santiago de Compostela where 6th ranked Rosalia (4-4) was defeated by ninth ranked Leon (4-4) 63-59 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was swingman Alicia Florez (175-4) who scored 8 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Jennifer Giganto (-1) chipped in 6 points and 8 rebounds. Blanca Manivesa (165-97) produced 14 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals and Ines Herrero added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Leon moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Rosalia. Leon will meet at home Cortegada (#9) in the next round. Rosalia will play against Melilla and hope to secure a win.
