Regular Season Round 10: Plasencia - Estepona 59-80

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Plasencia (3-7) was outleveled at home by sixth ranked Estepona (6-4) 80-59 on Monday. Estepona had a 29-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. Montenegrin center Ana Pocek (190-93) notched 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and point guard Eva Cases (168-97) supported her with 15 points and 5 assists. Five Estepona players scored in double figures. Even 14 points and 9 rebounds by Nigerian forward Ijeoma Uchendu (185-92, college: Butler) did not help to save the game for Plasencia. Bulgarian point guard Karina Konstantinova (173-99) added 21 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Estepona moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Zamarat. Plasencia lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with seven games lost. They share it with Real Canoe and Al-Qazeres. Estepona will meet league's leader Barca CBS in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Plasencia will play against the league's second-placed Jairis (#2) in Alcantarilla and hope to secure a win.
