Regular Season Round 12: Trefl 2 - Chelmno 85-68

Rather expected game when bottom-ranked Chelmno (0-13) lost to thirteenth ranked Trefl 2 (4-8) in Sopot 68-85 on Saturday. Trefl 2 dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Chelmno's 26. Trefl 2 forced 21 Chelmno turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Chelmno's players. The winners were led by point guard Hubert Lalak (180-3) who scored that evening 16 points, 9 assists and 8 steals and forward Filip Gurtatowski (193-4) supported him with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Trefl 2 players scored in double figures. Trefl 2's coach Michael Lydkowski used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 21 points and 8 rebounds by point guard Mateusz Krawiec (187-87) did not help to save the game for Chelmno. Forward Lukasz Mirolewicz (196-95) added 15 points and 8 rebounds. Trefl 2 moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Chelmno still closes the standings with 13 games lost. Trefl 2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Chelmno will play against Miedzychod (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
