Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Paterna (5-5) was defeated on the road by third ranked Alcobendas (10-1) 66-59 on Saturday. Alcobendas forced 27 Paterna turnovers. The best player for the winners was power forward Clara Rodriguez (184-96) who scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Danish guard Anna Seilund (175-93, college: USF) chipped in 12 points and 4 steals. Power forward Iciar German (185-86) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and Bosnian Nedzla Kovacevic (183-97) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Alcobendas. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Barca CBS and Jairis. Loser Paterna keeps the seventh place with five games lost. They share the position with Lima-Horta. Alcobendas will meet Plasencia (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Paterna will play against Ardoi (#10) and hope to secure a win.
