An interesting game was also tough home defeat of 4th ranked Guadalajara in a game versus Rivas (#5) 89-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Guadalajara. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Angel Gomez (197-87) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American center Julien Sargent (211-91, college: Mobile, AL) accounted for 8 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Naturalized Georgian center Temur Kiknadze (205-92) came up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and forward Raul Lazaro (195-87) added 12 points respectively for Guadalajara in the defeat. Four Guadalajara players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rivas (7-4) moved-up to fourth place in Group B. Loser Guadalajara dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Socuellamos and La Matanza. Rivas will meet at home Estudiantes B (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Guadalajara will play against Majadahonda (#14) and hope to secure a win.
