Regular Season Round 11: Baskonia B - Ardoi 75-48
Date: November 27, 2021
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Baskonia B (9-2) crushed at home 7th ranked Ardoi (6-5) 75-48 on Saturday. Baskonia B forced 19 Ardoi turnovers and outrebounded them 50-23 including a 35-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Marcos Portalez (202-95, agency: Interperformances) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Uruguayan-Greek forward Maximiliano Sole (195-88) accounted for 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Five Baskonia B players scored in double figures. Naturalized Ukrainian forward Anton Savitski (196-86) came up with 15 points and center Andres Zabaleta (200-94) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Ardoi in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Baskonia B. They keep a position of Group A-A leader, which they share with Santurtzi. Loser Ardoi keeps the seventh place with five games lost. They share the position with Solares. Baskonia B will meet at home Santander (#14) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Ardoi will play against Zarautz (#16) and hope to secure a win.
