Regular Season Round 12: AZS UMK - KKS Basket 65-90

There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked KKS Basket (4-7) rolled over higher ranked AZS UMK (5-6) in Torun 90-65 on Saturday. KKS Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to AZS UMK's 22. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. The winners were led by power forward Maciej Rostalski (198-90) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists and Lukasz Ulchurski (185-90) supported him with 20 points. Even 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists by guard Pawel Sowinski (190-5) did not help to save the game for AZS UMK. Rwandan Adelin Ndashimye (-1) added 16 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. KKS Basket have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place. Loser AZS UMK keeps the eighth position with six games lost. KKS Basket will meet at home higher ranked Arka (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. AZS UMK will have a break next round.
