Pyrinto (6-1) recorded its first loss in Espoo on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked Honka (5-2) in overtime 89-82. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Pyrinto. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 18 points after three quarters before their 25-7 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 7-point victory in overtime. Honka dominated on the defensive end, holding Pyrinto to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Pyrinto 60-44 including a 45-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Riku Korhonen (192-4) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds. Center Topias Jokela (204-4) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Kion Williams (186-3) produced 26 points and 9 rebounds and guard Brunel Madzou (185-5) added 17 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals respectively for the guests. Five Honka and four Pyrinto players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Honka moved-up to second place. Pyrinto at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
