Very expected game when 12th ranked Xerez (1-8) lost to seventh ranked Badajoz (4-5) in Jerez de la Frontera 61-66 on Saturday. Badajoz outrebounded Xerez 45-34 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for Dutch point guard Jaron Held (187-2) who led the winners and scored 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Javier Valeiras (203-98, college: Gannon) accounted for 15 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side. Naturalized Gibraltar power forward Alejandro Garcia (198-1) came up with 14 points and 9 rebounds and guard Eduardo Quijada (185-3) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Xerez in the defeat. Xerez's coach Gabo Loaiza rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Badajoz maintains seventh place in Group D-B with 4-5 record, which they share with Real Betis 2.
