A very close game took place in Saint-Amand between Hainaut and Gazelles. Eleventh ranked Hainaut (2-6) got a very close home victory over 9th ranked Gazelles (3-5). Hainaut managed to escape with a 1-point win 82-81 on Saturday evening. Hainaut forced 22 Gazelles turnovers. The winners were led by the former international Myriam Djekoundade (185-98) who scored that evening 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and American point guard Janee Thompson (170-93, college: Kentucky) supported her with 16 points. Four Hainaut players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 19 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists by American forward Haley Peters (190-92, college: Duke) did not help to save the game for Gazelles. International point guard Olivia Epoupa (165-94) added 21 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Hainaut moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Charnay. Loser Gazelles dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with Bretagne. Hainaut will meet at home bottom-ranked Tarbes (#12) in the next round. Gazelles will play against the league's second-placed Lyon (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
