No shocking result in a game when second ranked Wroclaw (6-2) beat on the road 9th ranked Sosnowiec (2-5) 77-73 on Saturday. Wroclaw looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by swingman Monika Jasnowska (182-92) who scored that evening 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and international forward Anna Jakubiuk (182-94) supported her with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 16 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists by American-Belizean forward Aishah Sutherland (187-90, college: Kansas) did not help to save the game for Sosnowiec. American guard Jessica January (170-95, college: DePaul) added 20 points and 8 assists for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Wroclaw maintains second position with 6-2 record having just one point less than leader Lublin. Sosnowiec lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with five games lost. Wroclaw will meet at home Bydgoszcz (#6) in the next round. Sosnowiec will play against GTK Gdynia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
