Regular Season Round 8: Charnay - Lyon 63-74
Date: November 27, 2021
No shocking result in a game when third ranked Lyon (6-2) beat 10th ranked Charnay (2-6) in Charnay-les-Macon 74-63 on Saturday. Lyon made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game, while Charnay only scored three points from the stripe. The winners were led by American Cierra Burdick (188-93, college: Tennessee) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and international power forward Alexia Chartereau (189-98) supported her with 16 points. Even a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds by Mali center Kankou Coulibaly (187-90, agency: Basket Promotion Agency) did not help to save the game for Charnay. American guard Lexie Brown (175-94, college: Duke) added 14 points and 4 assists for the hosts. Five Lyon and four Charnay players scored in double figures. Lyon have an impressive six-game winning streak. They used an opportunity after Flammes lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Charnay lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with six games lost. They share the position with Hainaut. Lyon will meet Gazelles (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Charnay will play against Bourges and hope to secure a win.
