Regular Season Round 8: La Spezia - Vigarano 80-59
Date: November 28, 2021
There was no surprise when 5th ranked Vigarano (4-4) was outleveled on the road by second ranked La Spezia (6-2) 80-59 on Sunday. The winners were led by guard Angelica Castellani (172-0) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Nancy NGuessan (176-3) supported her with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four La Spezia players scored in double figures. Even 20 points and 6 rebounds by the former international power forward Silvia Sarni (190-87) did not help to save the game for Vigarano. Guard Giulia Sorrentino (175-98) added 14 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. La Spezia maintains second position in A2 with 6-2 record having just one point less than leader Valdarno. Loser Vigarano dropped to the seventh place with four games lost. La Spezia will meet Matelica (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vigarano will play against Civitanova and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
