There was no surprise when 12th ranked UE Horta (1-8) was outleveled on the road by sixth ranked Salou (5-4) 78-50 on Sunday. Salou outrebounded UE Horta 39-27 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American forward CJ Barksdale (203-92, college: Virginia Tech) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Gonzalo Balta (190-95) accounted for 15 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Pau Ferragut (-94) came up with 13 points and 5 assists and Gerard Rubio (-99) added 7 points and 9 rebounds respectively for UE Horta in the defeat. UE Horta's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Salou moved-up to fifth place in Group C-1, which they share with Roser. Newly promoted UE Horta keeps the twelfth position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
