Regular Season Round 8: Kipina - PuHu Juniorit 94-82

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Kipina as it allowed them to take a leadership position in 1st Division. Kipina defeated top-ranked PuHu Juniorit in Aanekoski 94-82. It was a key game for the top position in 1st Division. The game without a history. Kipina led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by PuHu Juniorit helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Steve Jr Robinson (165-96, college: Mt.St.Mary's) who scored 57 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import forward Chris Wray (203-94, college: Mt.St.Mary's) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks. Forward Thomas Ronnholm (197-3) produced 18 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Mahmoud Mohamed (194-97) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four PuHu Juniorit players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. which they share with defeated PuHu Juniorit. PuHu Juniorit will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Kipina will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked LrNMKY in Lappeenranta.
