Bottom-ranked Ferrol managed to get a third victory, breaking the five-game losing streak on Sunday night. This time newly promoted Ferrol won against seventh-ranked Zaragoza 72-65. American power forward Taylor Koenen (188-98, college: UNC, agency: LBM Management) scored 19 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian swingman Milica Ivanovic (178-88, college: Catawba) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Ferrol players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Sierra Calhoun (183-96, college: Rutgers) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds (made all of her nine free throws !!!) and her fellow American import forward Merritt Hempe (190-94, college: Georgia) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Zaragoza's coach Carlos Cantero tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Ferrol (3-7) moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Zaragoza lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with Araski. Ferrol will meet league's second-placed Valencia on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Zaragoza will play against Ensino (#13) in Lugo and hope to secure a win.
