Regular Season Round 6: Siauliu Siauliai - TalTech 66-70

There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Estonian TalTech (5-6) won against on the road 6th ranked Lithuanian Siauliu Siauliai (4-4) 70-66 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Siauliu Siauliai won fourth quarter 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TalTech forced 24 Siauliu Siauliai turnovers and had a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Point guard Marie Sepp (168-2) scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Maarja Grunmann (176-3) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Ahyiona Vason (163-97, college: UNCW) with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Justina Oficerovaite (186-2) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. TalTech have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Loser Siauliu Siauliai keeps the sixth position with four games lost.
