Very expected game in Lublin where 16th ranked Start (3-10) was defeated by fourth ranked Stal (10-4) 88-77 on Thursday. Stal made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. American point guard Kobi Simmons (196-97, college: Arizona) stepped up and scored 24 points for the winners and his fellow American import power forward Michael Young (206-94, college: Pittsburgh) chipped in 20 points. At the losing side the former international Mateusz Kostrzewski (202-89) responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds and center Roman Szymanski (209-91, college: Colby CC) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Five Start players scored in double figures. Start's coach Tane Spasev tested eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion moved-up to third place. Start lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. They share it with GTK Gliwice and MKS DG. Stal will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Start will play against Enea Astoria (#9) and hope to secure a win.
