Regular Season Round 11: Mark - Ostersund 78-83

The most shocking disappointment of round 11 in the Damligan was a home defeat of second-ranked Mark (7-4) to fourth ranked Ostersund (8-3) 83-78. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Ostersund looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Mehryn Kraker (183-94, college: Green Bay) who led her team to a victory scoring 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). International Elsa Paulsson-Glantz (185-95, college: Southeastern) helped adding 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Paulsson-Glantz is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Ostersund's coach Alva Stark used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Chanette Hicks (168-97, college: Norfolk St.) responded with 23 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals and the other American import forward Brittany Hernandez (185-93, college: UCCS) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Four Mark players scored in double figures. Ostersund have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Mark at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Ostersund are looking forward to face Visby Ladies (#6) on the road in the next round. Mark will play against Dolphins in Norrkoping and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
