Very important is a road loss of third ranked Casablanca (7-3) against eighth ranked Sant Adria (5-5) on Saturday night. Visiting Casablanca was defeated by Sant Adria in a tough game in Sant Adria 54-60. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Casablanca. Sant Adria forced 20 Casablanca turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Nuria Martinez (175-84) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 8 rebounds. Sheila Maeztu (-97) contributed with 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Raquel Terrer (170-0, college: NDSU) replied with 12 points and 9 rebounds and guard Ana Tainta (173-0, college: Portland St.) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Casablanca. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sant Adria have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place in Group B, which they share with Picken Claret. Casablanca at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Sant Adria will play against Picken Claret (#7) in Valencia in the next round. Casablanca will play at home against Sant Josep (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
