Regular Season Round 9: Bolzano AV - Carugate 51-66

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when eleventh ranked Carugate (3-6) defeated on the road 10th ranked Bolzano AV (2-6) 66-51 on Saturday. Carugate dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Bolzano AV's 24. The best player for the winners was Finnish center Helmi Tulonen (191-98, college: Duquesne) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds. Guard Francesca Diotti (175-97) chipped in 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Marta Pellegrini (178-2) who recorded 16 points and point guard Francesca Santarelli (175-94) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Carugate moved-up to ninth place in A2. Loser Bolzano AV dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. Carugate will meet at home Treviso (#14) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bolzano AV will play against the league's second-placed Scrivia where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
