Very expected game in Barcelona where 16th ranked Maresme (1-11) was rolled over by fifth ranked Zamarat (8-4) 81-42 on Saturday. Zamarat dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Maresme's 20. They outrebounded Maresme 40-20 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Nigerian center Nneka Ezeigbo (188-98, college: RMU) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and American swingman Chelsea Waters (186-94, college: Gonzaga, agency: Basket Promotion Agency) who added 6 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Zamarat players scored in double figures. Zamarat's coach Jacinto Carbajal felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was naturalized Senegalese center Sokhna Bintou Lo (188-0) with 8 points and Swiss Camila Martinez (183-1) scored 8 points. Zamarat maintains fifth position with 8-4 record. Loser Maresme stay at the bottom place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Azkoitia. Zamarat will meet at home Paterna (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. Maresme will play against Azkoitia (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
