Regular Season Round 12: Brest - Gomel 64-82

The biggest surprise of round 12 in Premier League was guest Gomel's (#6) easy road victory over Brest (#7) 82-64 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Brest. The game was mostly controlled by Gomel. Brest managed to win second period 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gomel forced 27 Brest turnovers. The best player for the winners was Russian guard Nikita Grabarev (190-0) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Timofey Verevkin (187-93) chipped in 24 points. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Aleksey Yanchuk (185-93) who recorded 20 points and swingman Maksim Marach (194-4) added 7 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively. Brest's coach Alexandr Fedorchyk rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Gomel have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 6-6 record. Brest at the other side keeps the seventh place with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
