Regular Season Round 10: De La Torre - Cordoba 51-64

There was no surprise when 13th ranked De La Torre (1-10) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Cordoba (7-3) 64-51 on Saturday. Cordoba made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Senegalese forward Aya Traore (188-83, college: Purdue) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Carlota Menendez (165-2) chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side Ana Moyano (-96) responded with 10 points and 8 rebounds and Irene Viruel (-0) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Cordoba maintains fifth position in Group A with 7-3 record. De La Torre lost fourth consecutive game. De La Torre at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth place with ten games lost. Cordoba will meet at home Genero (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. De La Torre will play against Adareva in Tenerife and hope to win that game.
