Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Cadi La Seu (8-3) defeated 13th ranked Gran Canaria (3-8) in Seu D'urgell 65-48 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for international Irati Etxarri (187-98) who led the winners and scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Mikayla Pivec (178-97, college: Oregon St., agency: LBM Management) accounted for 9 points and 6 assists for the winning side. American swingman Maya Caldwell (180-98, college: Georgia, agency: Shark Sports Management) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and the other American import forward Lydia Giomi (198-97, college: Oregon) added 4 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Gran Canaria in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cadi La Seu moved-up to third place, which they share with Girona. Gran Canaria lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Ferrol and Bembibre. Cadi La Seu will meet bottom-ranked Clarinos (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gran Canaria will play against the league's second-placed Valencia and hope to secure a win.
