Regular Season Round 9: Karkkila - Raholan P. 92-122

There was a small surprise when third ranked Raholan P. (5-3) rolled over on the road their close opponent Karkkila (5-4) 122-92 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Raholan P.. Karkkila managed to win second period 27-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Raholan P. looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Canadian point guard Tevaun Kokko (182, college: Ryerson) nailed 26 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and Bulgarian guard Angel Mavrodiev (183-91) accounted for 15 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Raholan P.'s coach Juho Jaakkola felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Artturi Nieminen (189-97) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Akseli Nieminen (201-3) added 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Karkkila in the defeat. Four Raholan P. and five Karkkila players scored in double figures. Raholan P. maintains third place in 1st Division with 5-3 record having just three points less than leader Team Pajulahti which they share with defeated Karkkila. Loser Karkkila keeps the third position with four games lost. Raholan P. will meet at home Kataja Ta. (#6) in the next round. Karkkila will play against the league's second-placed HyPo in Hyvinkaa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
