There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Brescia (4-6) defeated at home higher ranked Venezia (5-5) 80-69 on Sunday. Brescia dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Venezia's 30. International Amedeo Della Valle (192-93, college: Ohio St., agency: SLN) scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Greek-Canadian guard Nazareth Mitrou-Long (193-93, college: Iowa St.) chipped in 14 points and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side American center Mitchell Watt (208-89, college: Buffalo, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 19 points and the former international Stefano Tonut (194-93) scored 6 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Brescia moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Reggio Emilia. Venezia at the other side dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with Tortona. Brescia will meet league's leader Milano on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Venezia will play against Sassari (#14) and hope to secure a win.
