Regular Season Round 9: MuKi - Raiders Basket 77-95

There was no surprise when 10th ranked MuKi (2-7) lost to fifth ranked Raiders Basket (6-3) in Helsinki 77-95 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Raiders Basket. MuKi managed to win third quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Raiders Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to MuKi's 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by MuKi's players. American forward Devaughn Jenkins (201-95, college: Angelo St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Ahmad Gilbert (201-96, college: St.Thomas, FL) accounted for 23 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Leo Nordberg (185-4) came up with 25 points and 5 assists and point guard Joonas Timonen (189-0) added 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for MuKi in the defeat. Five MuKi players scored in double figures. Raiders Basket moved-up to third place in 1st Division. Loser MuKi keeps the tenth position with seven games lost. Raiders Basket will meet Oulun Bball (#5) on the road in the next round. MuKi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Helsinki to the arena ToPo Juniorit.
