The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Anwil as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Anwil smashed 14th ranked GTK in Wloclawek 95-71. Anwil dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to GTK's 24. They outrebounded GTK 40-24 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Anwil looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American guard Jonah Mathews (190-98, college: USC) fired 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. His fellow American import James Bell (196-92, college: Villanova) chipped in 10 points and 5 rebounds. Four Anwil players scored in double figures. Forward Filip Put (201-93) produced 14 points and American guard Josh Fortune (196-94, college: Colorado) added 11 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Twarde Pierniki. GTK lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Start and MKS DG. GTK will play next round against strong Czarni trying to get back on the winning streak. Anwil will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Spojnia in Stargard.
