Regular Season Round 9: Wroclaw - Bydgoszcz 94-73

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Wroclaw as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Wroclaw smashed 6th ranked Bydgoszcz at home 94-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Bydgoszcz. Wroclaw dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Bydgoszcz's 44. They outrebounded Bydgoszcz 45-29 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Wroclaw looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Bydgoszcz's players. American power forward Patricia Bright (193-91, college: Oregon St.) stepped up and scored 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and international guard Julia Drop (174-95) chipped in 20 points and 10 assists. The best for the losing side was American point guard Michaela Houser (170-91, college: Purdue) with 19 points and 5 assists and the other American import center Jillian Alleyne (190-94, college: Oregon, agency: LBM Management) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Five Wroclaw and four Bydgoszcz players scored in double figures. Bydgoszcz's coach Piotr Kulpeksza gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Bydgoszcz at the other side keeps the sixth place with four games lost. They share the position with Gorzow Wlkp.. Bydgoszcz will play next round against GTK Gdynia trying to get back on the winning streak. Wroclaw will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
