Regular Season Round 7: Titebi - Vera 66-75
Date: December 6, 2021
The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tbilisi: Vera (#4) and Titebi (#6). Titebi was defeated at home 66-75 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Titebi won third quarter 22-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American forward Zac Seljaas (202-97, college: BYU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Aubrey McAlpine (196-89, college: RMU, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 21 points and 5 rebounds. McAlpine is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American power forward Javion Ogunyemi (207-95, college: Siena) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and forward Akaki Lomouri (198-91) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vera have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 5-2 record. Titebi at the other side keeps the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Rustavi and Batumi. Vera's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Olimpi.
