Regular Season Round 11: Bergamo - San Vendemiano 61-72

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked San Vendemiano (8-3) won against on the road 7th ranked Bergamo (6-5) 72-61 on Wednesday. They outrebounded Bergamo 38-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for center Jacopo Vedovato (205-95) who led his team to a victory scoring 8 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Giacomo Sanguinetti (181-90) helped adding 17 points and 4 assists. Four San Vendemiano players scored in double figures. Naturalized Nigerian forward Francesco Ihedioha (197-86, agency: SLN) responded with 17 points and swingman Matteo Negri (194-91, agency: SLN) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for San Vendemiano. They maintain fourth place in B with 8-3 record. Loser Bergamo dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Vicenza. San Vendemiano will meet at home league's second-placed Cremona in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bergamo will play against Crema (#14) and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the Serie A2 just one year after relegation.
