Regular Season Round 14: Spojnia - Anwil 95-87

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Anwil (10-4) against eleventh ranked Spojnia (6-7) on Saturday night. Visiting Anwil was defeated by Spojnia in a tough game in Stargard 87-95. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Anwil. American point guard Erick Neal (178-95, college: UT Arlington) had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import center Baylee Steele (213-97, college: Duquesne, agency: One Motive Sports) chipped in 22 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Neal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Spojnia players scored in double figures. Slovenian center Ziga Dimec (210-93) responded with 25 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and American James Bell (196-92, college: Villanova) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Anwil's coach Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Spojnia moved-up to tenth place. Anwil at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. They share it with Stal and Czarni. Spojnia will play against league's second-placed Czarni in Slupsk in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Anwil will play at home against HydroTruck and hopes to get back on the winning track.
