Very predictable result when eighth ranked Desio (6-6) won against on the road 16th ranked Bernareggio (1-11) 98-93 on Saturday. Desio made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Bernareggio turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The winners were led by Andrea Mazzoleni (197-98) who scored that evening 21 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and point guard Andrea Leone (186-94) supported him with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Even 29 points and 7 rebounds by Manuel Di Meco (202-97, agency: SLN) did not help to save the game for Bernareggio. Guard Gian Paolo Almansi (196-2, agency: Players Group) added 19 points. Five Desio and four Bernareggio players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Desio maintains eighth position in B with 6-6 record. Bernareggio lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth place with 11 games lost. Desio will meet Olginate (#13) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Bernareggio will play against Jesolo and hope to win that game.
