Regular Season Round 10: Kipina - Team Pajulahti 108-74

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Team Pajulahti (7-3) in Aanekoski. Visitors were rolled over by Kipina (8-1) 108-74. The game was mostly controlled by Kipina. Team Pajulahti was better in third quarter 27-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kipina dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Team Pajulahti's 36. American guard Steve Jr Robinson (165-96, college: Mt.St.Mary's) had a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 10 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Chris Wray (203-94, college: Mt.St.Mary's) chipped in 18 points and 17 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Kipina players scored in double figures. At the losing side Toni Soininen (200-0) responded with 13 points and forward Roi Byman (197-97) scored 16 points. Team Pajulahti's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Newly promoted Kipina maintains first position in 1st Division with 8-1 record which they share with defeated Team Pajulahti. Team Pajulahti at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still keeps top place with three games lost. Kipina will play against Ura Basket (#5) in Kaarina in the next round. Team Pajulahti will have a break next round.
