Rather expected game when 9th ranked Melilla (4-7) was edged at home by seventh ranked Barakaldo (6-5) 68-66 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Alexus Johnson (188-94, college: Texas Southern) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Brazilian-Dominican forward Maira Harford (181-95, agency: Interperformances) accounted for 15 points for the winning side. Four Barakaldo players scored in double figures. Brazilian guard Alana Goncalo (166-94) came up with 23 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian power forward Bojana Stevanovic (180-96) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively for Melilla in the defeat. Barakaldo moved-up to sixth place in Group A, which they share with Leon. Loser Melilla dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Rosalia.
