Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Pozzuoli and 8th ranked Molfetta had identical 5-6 record. This time Pozzuoli used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Molfetta 82-76 on Saturday night. Pozzuoli dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Molfetta's 28. The winners were led by naturalized Senegalese center Iba Koite Thiam (205-98, agency: Players Group) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 30 points and 15 rebounds and point guard Antonio Gallo (182-0, agency: Players Group) supported him with 22 points and 9 assists (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!). Pozzuoli's coach Valerio Spinelli used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 16 points and 8 rebounds by center Francesco Infante (204-92) did not help to save the game for Molfetta. Guido Scali (195-98, agency: SLN) added 16 points. Four Molfetta players scored in double figures. Pozzuoli (6-6) moved-up to eighth place in B, which they share with Desio. Loser Molfetta dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. They share it with Lumezzane V. and Monfalcone. Pozzuoli will meet higher ranked Torrenova (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Molfetta will play against Taranto (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
