Leading San Miniato (10-2) recorded its second loss at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were rolled over by ninth ranked Firenze (6-6) 88-61. Firenze outrebounded San Miniato 45-26 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by Lorenzo Passoni (197-97) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds and forward Riccardo Castelli (200-88, agency: Players Group) supported him with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Firenze's coach Iacopo Venucci felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 16 points by forward Luca Tozzi (200-99) did not help to save the game for San Miniato. Center Antonio Lorenzetti (196-95) added 8 points and 7 rebounds. Firenze moved-up to eighth place in B, which they share with Desio. Loser San Miniato still keeps top position with two games lost. They share it with Cremona. Firenze will meet at home Livorno Pielle (#13) in the next round where they are favorite. San Miniato will play against Varese (#8) and hope to secure a win.
