Very important is a road loss of third ranked E.Kiryat Ata (7-3) against thirteenth ranked H.Izrael (2-7) on Sunday night. Visiting E.Kiryat Ata was defeated by H.Izrael in a tough game in Nazareth 90-95. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of E.Kiryat Ata. H.Izrael players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. E.Kiryat Ata was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Raven Barber (206-91, college: Mt.St.Mary's, agency: Slash Sports) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Tomer Asayag (190-99) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Five H.Izrael players scored in double figures. American power forward Amin Stevens (203-90, college: FAMU) replied with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 17 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and his fellow American import guard Kenney Funderburk (193-92, college: Columbus St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) added 12 points and 5 assists in the effort for E.Kiryat Ata. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted H.Izrael maintains thirteenth position with 2-7 record, which they share with M.Ma'ale Adum. E.Kiryat Ata at the other side dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. H.Izrael will play against bottom-ranked M.Hod Hasharon (#15) on the road in the next round. E.Kiryat Ata will play against M.Ashdod (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
