Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked Senigallia (7-5) edged at home 10th ranked Faenza (5-7) 80-79 on Sunday. Senigallia made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. The winners were led by point guard Filippo Giannini (184-91) who scored that evening 15 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Lorenzo Varaschin (197-98, agency: BIG) supported him with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Senigallia's coach Andrea Gabrielli used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 19 points and 8 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) by naturalized Argentinian guard Sebastian Vico (190-86) did not help to save the game for Faenza. Forward Marco Petrucci (195-92) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Senigallia moved-up to sixth place in B, which they share with Vicenza and Bergamo. Loser Faenza dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. They share it with Lumezzane V. and Monfalcone. Senigallia will meet Montegranaro (#16) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Faenza will play against Jesi (#12) and hope to secure a win.
