Bottom-ranked Fortitudo BO managed to get a third victory, breaking the series of three consecutive losses on Monday night. This time they outleveled fifth-ranked Trieste in Bologna 96-60. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 36-point difference suggests that Fortitudo BO is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. They made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Fortitudo BO looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by Trieste helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American-Polish center Geoffrey Groselle (213-93, college: Creighton) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). International Gabriele Procida (198-2) contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Fortitudo BO players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fortitudo BO (3-8) moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Varese and Cremona. Trieste at the other side keeps the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Brindisi and Treviso. Fortitudo BO's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Bologna to the arena Virtus BO.
