There was no surprise in Opole where 10th ranked Krosno (6-8) was defeated by fifth ranked AZS PO (10-4) 72-61 on Wednesday. It was a great evening for forward Szymon Kiwilsza (201-97, agency: BIG) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Jakub Kobel (190-98) helped adding 16 points and 5 assists. Four AZS PO players scored in double figures. AZS PO's coach Marcin Grygowicz used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was guard Damian Ciesielski (187-97) with 11 points and 6 assists and naturalized German forward Julian Jasinski (201-96) scored 8 points and 8 rebounds. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for AZS PO. They maintain fifth place with 10-4 record. Loser Krosno dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. AZS PO will meet Lublin 2 (#8) on the road in the next round. Krosno will play against Dziki and hope to secure a win.
