There was a small surprise when eighth ranked La Rochelle (9-7) defeated at home 5th ranked Toulouse (9-7) 74-69 on Friday. Worth to mention a great performance of British V.Islands forward Norville Carey (201-93, college: Rider, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 9 rebounds and guard Gaetan Clerc (189-91) who added 16 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side American power forward Ron Anderson Jr (203-89, college: S.Florida) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and naturalized Algerian point guard Faycal Sahraoui (190-79) scored 13 points and 7 assists. La Rochelle have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place in Group A, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Toulouse. La Rochelle will meet Vendee Challans (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Toulouse will play against Lourdes-Tarbes (#10) and hope to secure a win.
