Regular Season Round 11: Ura Basket - Kipina 94-90

Leading Kipina (8-2) recorded its second loss in Kaarina on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by fifth ranked Ura Basket (6-5) 94-90. The hosts trailed by 16 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 4 points. The best player for the winners was guard Lauri Hanninen (189-2) who scored 23 points. Guard Matias Suomi (188-95) chipped in 15 points. Ura Basket's coach Arttu Mannelin used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Steve Jr Robinson (165-96, college: Mt.St.Mary's) produced 41 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import forward Chris Wray (203-94, college: Mt.St.Mary's) added 17 points and 17 rebounds respectively for the guests. Ura Basket moved-up to fourth place in 1st Division. Newly promoted Kipina still keeps top position with two games lost. Ura Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kipina will play against JyWe and hope to secure a win.
