There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked Alcobendas (6-8) outleveled at home 9th ranked Tenerife Naut. (6-8) 90-65 on Saturday. They outrebounded Tenerife Naut. 42-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. Forward Alberto de la Torre (201-94) scored 25 points to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Oscar Herrero (182-87) chipped in 12 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Forward Joel Juarez (196-2, agency: Global Sports Basketball) responded with 10 points and 6 rebounds and Montenegrin forward Danilo Brnovic (200-0) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Alcobendas moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Tenerife Naut. Alcobendas will meet higher ranked Alcala (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
