Regular Season Round 10: Burgos - Moron 74-78

There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Burgos (6-4) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Moron (5-5) 78-74 on Saturday. Guard Pablo Marin (190-2) fired 17 points and 4 assists for the winners (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Cameroonian center Bertrand Awana (206-97, college: Lenoir-Rhyne) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. American center Coreontae DeBerry (208-94, college: Cincinnati) produced 16 points and 7 rebounds and guard Didac Cuevas (178-0) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Four Burgos players scored in double figures. Burgos' coach Francis Tome tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Moron maintains seventh position in Silver with 5-5 record. Loser Burgos dropped to the sixth place with four games lost. Moron will meet at home league's leader Zornotza in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Burgos will play against Navarra (#13) in Pamplona and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the LEB Gold just one year after relegation.
