Regular Season Round 11: Nico Basket - Vigarano 77-90

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Vigarano (6-5) beat 9th ranked Nico Basket (4-7) in Ponte Buggianese 90-77 on Saturday. Vigarano dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Nico Basket's 26. It was an exceptional evening for the former international power forward Silvia Sarni (190-87) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Swingman Lucrezia Coser (177-98) accounted for 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four Vigarano players scored in double figures. Vigarano's coach Massimo Borghi used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Chiara Bacchini (180-98, college: Quinnipiac) came up with 30 points and 6 rebounds and Slovenian Ana Saric (185-0) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Nico Basket in the defeat. Vigarano maintains seventh place in A2 with 6-5 record. Loser Nico Basket dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. Vigarano will meet at home Patti (#9) in the next round. Nico Basket will play against San Salvatore and hope to secure a win.
