There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked Biella (2-10) won against at home 11th ranked Mantova (4-8) 85-71 on Sunday. Biella forced 21 Mantova turnovers. The winners were led by American Steven Davis (203-93, college: Wright St., agency: Players Group) who scored that evening 25 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Gianmarco Bertetti (179-1) supported him with 19 points. Biella's coach Andrea Zanchi allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 13 points and 6 assists by Serbian swingman Vojislav Stojanovic (199-97) did not help to save the game for Mantova. Guard Gabriele Spizzichini (195-92) added 13 points and 7 rebounds. Four Mantova players scored in double figures. Biella maintains thirteenth position in A2 with 2-10 record. Loser Mantova keeps the eleventh place with eight games lost. Biella will meet higher ranked Milano Urania (#10) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Mantova will play against Pistoia where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
