We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 14th ranked Plasencia (3-12) was defeated on the road by fifteenth ranked Azkoitia (3-12) 87-73 on Sunday. It was a great evening for guard Juana Molina-Prados (174-91) who led her team to a victory scoring 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. U.S. Virgin Islands center Anisha George (188-98, college: N.Texas) helped adding 24 points and 6 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Four Azkoitia players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Bulgarian point guard Karina Konstantinova (173-99) with 19 points and power forward Laia Moya (182-1) scored 19 points. Azkoitia moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with defeated Plasencia. Plasencia lost their twelfth game in a row. Azkoitia will meet at home higher ranked Granada (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Plasencia will play against Joventut (#11) in Badalona and hope to secure a win.
