Everything went according to plan when ninth ranked Carugate (5-6) defeated on the road 12th ranked Vicenza (2-8) 64-51 on Sunday. Carugate forced 20 Vicenza turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for guard Francesca Diotti (175-97) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 5 assists. Finnish center Helmi Tulonen (191-98, college: Duquesne) accounted for 15 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. Naturalized Argentinian Gisel Villarruel (175-94) came up with 17 points and 5 assists and swingman Francesca Tagliapietra (176-95, college: Clemson) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Vicenza in the defeat. Carugate maintains ninth place in A2 with 5-6 record. Loser Vicenza keeps the twelfth position with eight games lost.
